FAQ When you book Nepal Tour Package

How do I travel to Nepal?

Nepal has one international airport and 7 points in border with India. Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu is the only international airport in Nepal.

Where is Nepal located?

Nepal is one of the most stunning countries of the world, stands bordered by China in the north and by India in the south, east and west. The capital of Nepal is ‘Kathmandu’ . It boasts of a diverse topography, which ranges from Terai in the south to Himalayas in the north. Infact, Nepal is home to eight of the ten tallest mountains in the whole world. Its awe-inspiring locales stand in beautiful contrast to its ancient temples and monasteries. It is one of the preferred destinations for those coming to Asia on holiday tours.

What is the best time to visit Nepal?

The best time will depend on what kind of activities you wish to do. Almost all the regions and places are accessible throughout the year, although some periods are more suited for certain activities. The best months are between September and November and February and May when you can expect better visibility, the air is fresh, the weather is perfect and the Nepalese most important festivals (Dashain & Tihar) are marked during that season. The Himalayas and Mountain stations are explored throughout the summer time (March to May additionally). However, some tourists prefer to visit Nepal in the off season too, as there are abundant choices and low costs in terms of accommodation and flight bookings.

What is the weather like?

The weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. In general, the winters (January and February) can be a bit cold at night and the days can be quite beautiful and warm when the sun comes out even though there’s snow. The summers (June, July and August) are more wet, warm and humid due to the monsoon showers. The roads can be tricky and there might be landslides. Spring and autumn are the best seasons to explore Nepal. Mostly, it is not too hot and not too cold, there’s not too much snow and occasional rain. Nevertheless, it is good if you carry both light and warm clothing in casual and comfortable styles. In the mountain areas, warm woolen clothing is necessary while at lower altitude cotton clothing is ideal.

How do I get my visa for Nepal?

For most nationalities, you can get your visa on arrival in Kathmandu. It takes around 45 minutes and is the most convenient way to get your visa. You can also apply for a visa in advance from a local Nepali consulate in your country if you’d like to have everything arranged in advance.

What is the local currency of Nepal?

The Nepalese rupee is the local money. Bank notes come in denominations of Rs. 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000. Coins are of 1, 2 and 5 rupee denomination. Nepalese banks do not accept Indian currency of denominations Rs. 500 and 1000. It is recommended to exchange currency from those authorized such as banks, hotels and licensed travel agents only.
