Phewa Lake is known by various other names like Phewa Tal or Fewa Lake. It is considered to be one of the top tourist destinations in Nepal, situated in the southern part of Pokhara Valley that also includes Pokhara city, along with the parts of Sarangkot and Kaskikot. Actually the water of this lake is fed by stream but as a dam has been constructed to regulate its waters, the lake is categorized as semi-natural freshwater lake. The lake is considered to be the second largest lake of the country, which is followed by Benas Lake, while the largest being the Gandaki Lake.
